Vera Blue Releases Debut Album ‘Perennial’
Jul 21, 2017

As rising artist Vera Blue prepares for her first solo headline performance this afternoon in the Mix Up Tent at Splendour In The Grass Festival, her debut album Perennial which is this week’s triple j feature album is officially released today.
Perennial traces the circular pathways between love and loss and is arranged into three chapters, which chronologically trace the development of Vera Blue; from her very first week writing, raw after the breakdown of a relationship, towards a place of renewed strength and vivacity.
Included on the album is first single ‘Private’, ‘Mended’ and the recently released infectious trackRegular Touch. The new album introduces a fully-formed Vera Blue, seamlessly synthesizing her folk past with a bold, electronic pop future.
Recorded between Los Angeles and Sydney, Perennial was written with longtime collaborators Andy and Thom Mak (Boy & Bear, Bertie Blackman) and produced by Andy Mak and executive producer Grammy-nominated founder of Deep Well Records Adam Anders. The release of Perennial will be celebrated with her National Mended Tour which is selling fast with most shows already SOLD OUT and extra dates added, with Laykn and Thandi Phoenix supporting nationally.
Vera Blue announces US Tour, US Signings & Australia Council Grant
Jan 17, 2017

One of Australia’s most promising talents, Vera Blue is pleased to announce her signing to Deep Well / Capitol Records in the U.S and Paradigm Agency in New York effective immediately. She will headline a US tour in March, which includes showcase performances at SXSW.
Vera Blue has also received a grant from the Australia Council of the Arts to help fund her debut North American shows and appearance at SXSW.
Australian recording artist Vera Blue found her feet first as a singer and then as an acoustic guitarist. She found her sound mixing the music she’s long loved with lush and sultry electronica as heard on her EP ‘Fingertips’. The lead track ‘Hold’ has reached over 14 million streams and peaked at #1 on the Spotify AU Viral Chart, Top 5 UK/US and Global Spotify Viral Charts. The ‘Fingertips’ EP peaked at #3 on the iTunes Album Chart, garnered 3 x Top 100 ARIA Chart Singles and has been streamed over 21 million times world-wide to date and received glowing reviews.
“From the first time I heard her sing I was convinced that we had to be involved. She is a rare talent that will electrify anyone that hears her music. We couldn’t be more excited to work alongside our friends at Universal Australia and welcome her to the Deep Well / Capitol Records family,” says Adam Anders, President/CEO from Deep Well.
“We’re very excited to have partnered with Universal Music Australia to make Vera Blue part of the Capitol Records family. Her voice effortlessly carries the melodies from song to song and really draws in the listener with her unique blend of electronic and folk elements. She has already solidified herself as a rising star in Australia and we can’t wait to continue to build upon her momentum here in the US,” says Mike Flynn, EVP A & R from Capitol Records.
Paradigm is one of the top music agencies in the world with clients including Aerosmith, Black Eyed Peas, Coldplay and Ed Sheeran – just to name a few. Matt Galle, Senior Agent from Paradigm says, “We are thrilled to have Vera Blue join the Paradigm family and are looking forward to her debut North America dates.”
Currently in the studio recording her much anticipated debut album to be released this year, 2017 is shaping up to be massive. She has just come off the Australian Summer Festival season after two sold out national tours last year. The hit single ‘Papercuts’, which she features on and performed at the 2016 ARIA Awards with Illy, is now certified 3x Platinum peaking at #2 on the charts.
CELIA PAVEY ANNOUNCES ‘BODIES’ EP TOUR
Aug 4, 2014

Celestial Australian folk artist Celia Pavey is debuting her pure and otherworldly vocal ability on the long-awaited EP Bodies. Heading on an East Coast tour in support of the EP, out August 29, audiences can expect an intimate performance reflecting Celia’s earliest experiences singing in the church hall of her small hometown, Forbes NSW.
This studio introduction to Celia’s honest and adventurous folk songwriting sweeps through that flat, ghostly landscape and into sonically lush territory. Featuring writing collaborations with Tim Hart of Boy & Bear (‘Shadow’) and Bluejuice’s Jake Stone (‘Bodies’), the songs build and swell with instruments. Through them, Celia sings of young loss and desire with a voice that has already captured international attention.
Produced by Eric J. Dubowsky (Chet Faker, Flume), the Bodies EP is an intrepid first statement from a songwriter whose abilities belie her 20 years of age. In the title song and the EP’s first single, ‘Red’, piano and percussion eddy and swirl around a subtle yet undeniable hook. Celia wrote the song in the week leading up to recording the EP.
“It was a really quick decision to include ‘Red’ on the EP, but Eric really liked it and I suppose it’s a very honest song,” Celia explains. “I’m a very honest person so I like to write about real things that are happening in my life rather than make up stories. I write a lot about the people in my life. Most of my songs are about love or the habits people share.”
The EP is rounded out by a cover of the Bat For Lashes song ‘Laura’, which Celia makes her own with a gentle touch and Dubowsky’s rich production. The Bodies EP, too, is a missive to the world that Celia Pavey is so much more.
