Splendour in the Grass, every year, has a few truly special moments, and on her first appearance at the festival, Vera Blue managed to be a part of two of the most iconic moments of SITG2016.
Day One saw her come on stage with Illy to sing their massively popular track, ‘Papercuts,’ which, according to musicfeeds, “provid(ed) Splendour with one of its first truly triumphant moments.”
Featuring in Slumberjack’s set, Vera Blue tried out a new track that she and the pair of producers have been working on.
And, in a secret barn somewhere near Byron, Vera Blue, amongst the other guests, rehearsed with the young legend, Flume, for what would become the biggest and most memorable set of the entire festival.
Stepping in for Kai, Vera Blue dominated her performance of the enormous lead single from Flume’s second album, Skin, ‘Never Be Like You,’ delivering an emotional rendition of the song to an audience of 20,000 fans.
“Vera Blue really smashed it with ‘Never Be Like You’ – tripleJ
Her debut appearance at the legendary Australian festival went down perfectly, and if she keeps up her current string of success, it won’t be the last time she plays there.
